Priority data on the functional state of the immune system of the Perm Region population: children from 2 days of birth till puberty (with yearly interval; separately for boys and girls), and adults (men and women, the latter with regard to the phases of the menstrual cycle) have been obtained. Changes in the immune system functioning in population from ecologically unfavorable regions, and actual approaches to their prevention (prophylaxis and treatment of ecologically dependent secondary immunodeficient states) have been shown. Methods for diagnostics of the disturbances in systemic and local immunity based on the comparative analysis of cytokine spectrum of a number of secretions, and blood sera from patients have been developed. The regimens for immunity correction under the therapy of chronic inflammatory diseases (methods for immunoprophylaxis, immunotherapy, and immunorehabilitation) have been worked out and tested;
Original observations on functional regulation of immunocompetent and phagocytizing cells by application of somatotropin, thyroxin, female and male sex steroids, acetylcholine, and some other hormones have been provided. The number of new molecular mechanisms for neuroendocrine regulation of the immunogenesis has been interpreted, particularly in pregnancy and under stress;
Novel technology on which basis the original test-systems for non-instrumental diagnostics of HIV and streptococcal infections, the detection of albuminuria, botulinus and tetanus toxins, and chorionic gonadotropin (early diagnostics of pregnancy) has been developed. Principal analytic parameters of these test systems (sensitivity, specificity, reliability, etc.) considerably exceeded those of conventional diagnosticums.
