The laboratory was established in 1976. The principal direction of the scientific research is the study of endogenous and exogenous factors in regulation of the bacterial population growth. The financing is provided from the government according to the plan of scientific-research efforts of the Institute, and from federal and regional grants of the Russian Federation Foundation for Basic Research, grants of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for fundamental investigations, and from business contracts.
Theses, term papers, bachelor papers, graduation and master’s research are fulfilled on the basis of the laboratory facilities, as well as biochemical constituent of the Wide Training Course for the students from biological department at Perm State University that are specialized in “Microbiology” discipline.
There are nine staff members in the laboratory, including six scientific researchers (of which three are candidates of science), one engineer, and two laboratory assistants.
