Wide distribution of phosphate-accumulating bacteria (PAB) in phosphorite rocks in Chelyabinsk and Kirov regions of phosphorite deposits (26-52% of the total bacteria), in aerated alkaline water of West Pre-Urals (up to 18-56%), in shoaling water of the White and the Barents seas (3-43%) has been determined. Absolute and relative PAB quantity was usually increased with the elevation of the bacterial total number that was followed by their aggregation in depositing phosphorus-, and iron-containing organo-mineral complex, and the decrease in specific activity of heterotrophic assimilation of carbon from carbon dioxide in situ;
It was shown that the leading position in self-purification and bioproductivity of the submountain Sylva river belonged to phyto-, and bacterioperiphyton. Considerable portion of organic and contaminating substances was transformed in reservoir, particularly with widely distributed PAB in periphyton and plankton, and then in the form of phosphorus-, and iron-containing organomineral suspension was washed out by transit river route;
Observations on biosynthesis of intracellular polyphosphates (PP) by Acinetobacter calcoaceticus cells under aerobic conditions or polyhydroxyalkanoates by Escherichia coli cells under anaerobic conditions have been obtained. It was shown that in A. calcoaceticus with effective system of active transport of phosphate-ions the PP biosynthesis was regulated not by exogenous orthophosphate (as in E.coli), but by intracellular one. It was found that slowing down of E.coli batch culture growth under aerobic-anaerobic transition was accompanied by the lowering in Tfreezing;
The laboratory collection of the Acinetobacter baumannii strains is maintained including those in which markers of antibiotic resistance are related to mobile structures (gene cassettes in the composition of class 1 integrons, insertion sequences);.
